Candice & Pat – Engagement – Missoula, MT

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

I LOVE my couples! And, this couple is no exception.  A week and a half ago we met and talked about their wedding.  They decided on a day after shoot instead of the engagement shoot, but a few days later we all knew we had to do an engagement session too.  So yesterday, Saturday, we met at 7am, ya, 7am.  Hoping we might have a gorgeous sunrise, but instead it was a cloudy and 36 degrees.  I haven’t done an early morning shoot yet, but it was so much fun.  We wandered around downtown, along the river, stopped for some coffee, and laughed, alot!

They met while in college at Montana State University.  Candice went to class with her friend one day, her friends class, not her own!  Pat caught her eye.  They smiled at one another and that was that.  So, the following week she went to her friend’s class again in hopes of seeing Pat again.  He was there, their eyes met, and the smiled at one another.  Just as they had the week before.  And again that was that.  The next week Candice wasn’t going to go, but her friend threatened that if Candice didn’t go and talk to him, she would pass him a note saying “Call me Baby!” with Candice’s phone number. Of course Candice didn’t want this to happen, so she went.  After class Candice and her friend walked out slowly, in hopes Pat would meet up with them.  He did, and Candice said, “Hey!”  He said hey back, they exchanged names and shook hands.  So the next week Candice went to class again, did the slow walk, Pat met up with them. They said hey again, but Pat had forgotten her name.  Candice asked for his phone number, he asked for her name.  The rest is pretty much history.

Pat later decided that MSU wasn’t working for him and transferred to the University of Montana in Missoula.  Candice later followed.  And, in July they’ll exchange vows in a gorgeous church in Missoula, and party the night away in a beautiful restored historic building.  They’re doing what they can to have an eco-friendly wedding with a vintage theme with lots detail, including 1000 paper cranes made from magazine pages!  I can’t wait to photograph their beautiful day.  And, I’m so excited to have new friends!  Here they are: CANDICE & PAT!!!!

Collin & Megan – Engagement – Missoula, MT

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

Thursday morning I met up with Collin & Megan for their engagement session.  The weather called for rain and these two said they wanted to do them rain or shine.  Honestly, part of me was praying for a downpour! It would have been so much fun.  Instead I woke up to sunshine!  I had been emailing back and forth with these two for weeks and was so excited I couldn’t sit still.

I always send out a questionnaire to my new couples just to learn a little about them. Plus they are so fun to read!  Well, Collin admitted to me that they weren’t officially engaged.  They were going to get married but Megan’s sister is engaged and was having a party less than a week before our photoshoot, and they didn’t want to steal the thunder from her so they decided to wait to announce their engagement until Megan flew up to Montana on Monday.  This is so nice, right?!  Then Collin continued to tell me that after she flew in he planned to take her up to an area over looking the Frenchtown valley at sunset and propose. Ooooooooo, SO exciting!  Sure enough Collin took her up there and proposed.  When we met up I asked her about it and how exciting it was.  She laughed and said she knew it was happening.  Apparently Collin was running around grabbing stuff to leave and Megan saw the box on the table.  She just acted really excited :) HAHA!

These two are SO in love, and all about having a good time!  They were so easy to photography I just couldn’t believe it!  I couldn’t even finish telling them where to sit/stand and they were already there, smiling, kissing, laughing… it was AWESOME!  Megan loves to just have some fun, and make some faces, for example:

Collin would say “MEGAN! These are our engagement photos!”  Megan’s reply was “Well, ya, I probably should show my normal face in some of them!”

I loved every minute with these two.  They are beautiful, full of life and so  in love!  Okay, okay I’ll stop talking and let you see them!

Blake & Hawa – Engagement – Missoula, MT

Monday, June 7th, 2010

A few days ago I spent a couple hours with this great couple, Blake & Hawa.  They were much taller than I had expected… keep in mind I’m 5’3″.  But, they were TALL!  They are new to Missoula and will only be living here til the end of the year.  We ran around the campus of the University, over to the footbridge, and then down the riverwalk… we did a lot of walking and they were quite the troopers!

Blake & Hawa met during college at Washington State University and it was pretty much love at first sight! Even better they met at the bus stop! And in Hawa’s own words “It was a whirlwind from that point on.”   They both had made an agreement that they wouldn’t marry til after they were finished with school.  Blake graduated in December and went to work in Arizona and Hawa was still in school but went to visit him often.  She went down to see him last month and on her last day there they went down to the Colorado River, had a picnic, and went swimming.  Then as the sun was setting he proposed!!!!  Now they are getting married back in Washington on August 8th! What a great day to get married!!! I would know I got married the same day… twice! HAHA! (Legal one year and ceremony in Mexico the next… not to 2 different men you crazies!)

I enjoyed every minute with Blake & Hawa they are such a fun, awesome couple, who are really madly in love with one another.  Blake & Hawa I wish you the best that life and love have to offer!!!  Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding!

Here they are!!!!!!!!

And my personal FAVORITE!!!!
